Susan Heape

Susan Heape holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University. She earned her Reading Recovery Teacher Leader credential from National Louis University and has a Reading Specialist endorsement. Susan has been an educator for 32 years. She enjoyed twenty years teaching first and third grades, Reading Recovery, and interventions. During the last several years as a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader, literacy coach and district-level intervention coach, she has focused her efforts on continuous improvement around literacy instruction and practice. She draws on this experience to assist educators in implementing best practice within their own districts.
